Acid-Etched (Satin) Glass

Light without glare. Acid-etching destroys the retinal image guaranteeing 100% privacy while transmitting 70-85% of light. Anti-fingerprint surface. Unlike sandblasting, the acid craters are smooth and easy to clean.

Electrochromic Glass

Ionic migration electrochromic glass (Li+). T_L from 60% to 1%. Solar factor g from 0.40 to 0.09. The facade that acts like sunglasses: maximises free solar heat in winter, eliminates cooling loads in summer.

Insulated Glass Unit (IGU)

Glass + Argon gas + Low-E coating composite system. Ug from 1.0 to 0.5 W/m2K. The transparent thermodynamic machine that selects the electromagnetic spectrum: lets light pass, blocks summer heat, retains winter warmth.

Photovoltaic Glass (BIPV)

BIPV laminated glass with crystalline silicon or thin-film cells. Power 100-180 Wp/m2. T_L 10-40%. The building skin becomes a power plant: the solar material cost is offset by saving traditional cladding.
